    Mission

Our mission is to empower and inspire youth girls to love themselves despite their circumstances, become community leaders, and make healthy life choices.

Vision
Our vision is to inspire girls across the world to overcome barriers that interfere with their ability to love themselves, feel empowered, and be healthy in their mind, body, and soul.

iAmMe Girls was incorporated in 2015 with a focus on increasing  girl’s self-esteem and leadership skills that result in confident and successful young women in today’s society.

According to The Status of Girls in North Carolina 2017 report, seven out of 10 girls believe they do not measure up to their peers, and 75 percent of girls with low self-esteem report engaging in negative activities such as cutting, bullying, smoking, drinking, or disordered eating. However, the data shows in this report that girls in high school are almost twice as likely as boys to serve in student government and volunteer with organizations that support their communities.

iAmMe Girls meets this need by providing the tools for girls to learn key techniques on how to build their self-esteem at their own pace and challenging them to become a leader in various areas of their lives.

We aim to inspire girls, ages 10-18, in Durham, N.C., to love themselves, build healthy relationships, be leaders, and conquer any challenges they may face while pursuing their dreams.

iAmMe Girls is a year-round initiative dedicated to the growth and development of girls. Each girl participates in self-esteem and leadership training workshops targeting key adolescent areas such as health and wellness, goal setting and action planning, self-worth, entrepreneurship, healthy relationships, community service, and much more.

Along with our monthly group meetings, the girls will be paired with a mentor throughout the program. Assigned mentors are expected to meet with their mentee at least one time a week via text, telephone or meet up.  Each mentee will be assigned with their mentor based on their interest.
