Our mission is to empower and inspire youth girls to love themselves despite their circumstances, become community leaders, and make healthy life choices.
Our vision is to inspire girls across the world to overcome barriers that interfere with their ability to love themselves, feel empowered, and be healthy in their mind, body, and soul.

iAmMe Girls was incorporated in 2015 with a focus on increasing  girl’s self-esteem and leadership skills that result in confident and successful young women in today’s society.

According to The Status of Girls in North Carolina 2017 report, seven out of 10 girls believe they do not measure up to their peers, and 75 percent of girls with low self-esteem report engaging in negative activities such as cutting, bullying, smoking, drinking, or disordered eating. However, the data shows in this report that girls in high school are almost twice as likely as boys to serve in student government and volunteer with organizations that support their communities.

iAmMe Girls meets this need by providing the tools for girls to learn key techniques on how to build their self-esteem at their own pace, connecting our girls with mental health providers who look like them and challenging them to become a leader in various areas of their lives.

We aim to inspire girls, ages 10-18, in Durham, N.C., to love themselves, build healthy relationships, be leaders, and conquer any challenges they may face while pursuing their dreams. Through mentorship, each girl will be educated on leadership, maintaining healthy relationships, health and fitness, and community service.

Our program pillars are as follows:

Building self-esteem, positive body images, etc.

Team building, goal setting, financial education, career and

professional development

Healthy eating, making healthy choices, healthy relationships, and physical activity
